Grist Mill and Miller’s House, Killeen

A former grist mill and miller’s house of 18th and 19th century appearance but evolving from much older buildings and once part of the Killeen estate of the Plunketts, Earls of Fingall. The buildings are protected structures. The house was very dilapidated and some of the mill buildings in ruinous condition when acquired by the current owner. We advised on urgent repairs to the structure and exterior of the mill building to weatherproof and stabilise the structure pending a solution for its future use while the miller’s house was sensitively repaired and restored for use as self-catering holiday accommodation.
