The Tholsel, Drogheda, County Louth
This former tholsel built in 1770 is an important component of the eighteenth century built heritage of Drogheda. The domed clock tower is a key landmark which contributes greatly to the character of the townscape. We advised on conservative repairs which included renewal of the failed lead covering on the dome with new traditional sand-cast lead including a replacement weathervane, repairs to the timber roof structure, louvred openings, clockfaces and masonry.
