This plain vernacular farmhouse was refurbished and substantially enlarged to provide additional bedroom, bathroom and reception rooms. The new extensions are disposed to the rear of the old house creating a new entrance front with matching wings. The design draws on early-nineteenth-century Grecian classicism. The old house was extensively refurbished using natural materials more compatible with the traditional construction performance together with some modest alterations including a new Tuscan doorcase and replacement of poor-quality modern windows, doors and joinery with new traditional designs.
